Anyone who visits your Motionbox account can browse, watch, and share these videos. They will not need to join, sign in, or receive an invitation.

Do my friends have to sign up for Motionbox to watch my Open Access videos?

No. Open Access videos are accessible to members and non-members alike. No special link or invitation is necessary, and your friends and family can pass links along to their friends.

Should I mark my videos Open Access?

If you have videos you’d like to share with a large audience, or if you’d like your friends and family to pass your videos along to others, then yes. Just keep in mind that Open Access videos may be featured in Member Spotlight promos on Motionbox. Don’t worry, we’ll try to contact you first to ask your permission!

When you copy and paste the URL of a protected video from your browser’s address bar, your recipient will have to sign in or create an account to verify that he or she is on your Contact List. However, when you use Motionbox share links, we send your Contact a special invitation to access your videos without having to sign up or sign in.

Your friends and family can share your Protected videos, but their recipients will have to sign in or create an account to verify that they’re on your Contact List. They won’t be able to see your video if they’re not on your list, but they can send you a request to be added.

Yes, you can embed your own Protected video on any blog, website, or profile page. Anyone who visits that blog or page will be able to view it.

Protected videos will not appear in search results, except to you and to Motionbox members who are on your Contact List.

What are Private Videos?
  • Only you can browse and share your own Private videos.
  • Share Private videos only with people you really trust. No one can access these videos unless you send them the link.
  • Private videos will never show up in Motionbox search results, and we won’t feature them in any public area of the website.

Who can access my Private videos?

Only you can browse and share your own Private videos on Motionbox. If you email the link to a Private video to a friend, he or she will be able to view that video (but not your other private videos).

Can I share a Private video?

Yes. As the owner of the video, you can send a link to any Private video via email. Your recipients won’t be able to access your other Private videos – only the one you’ve shared. Remember that if you share the link to a Private video with someone, he or she will be able to forward that link to others!

Nope. Links to Private videos are secret, but you can share them with anyone you like. Just make sure share Private videos only with people you trust, since these links may be passed on!
